Jo-C Gaston paints for the love of colors. She chooses her medium based on how well they will work to reveal her vision. She paints with watercolors, acrylics, pastels and silk dyes. She took her first watercolor class ten years ago. Since then, she has participated in group shows and local juried art shows. She had group shows at the North Carolina Botanical Gardens and Hope Valley Country Club. She had solo exhibits at Duke University, Orange County Historical Museum, Braddigin’s Gallery, Jerry’s Artarama, Person County Library, and Cleveland County Fine Arts Gallery. She has won prizes at Kerr Lake Society juried shows and Person County Art Society Shows, and the Duke Employee Art Shows. She has participated in Artscope shows for the past two years. Her current works are displayed at Piper’s Deli in Durham and at the Book Market in Carrboro, NC.
